What to expect

1. Stop 1

Step into centuries of French history at the Château de Vincennes, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval fortresses. Located just outside central Paris, this impressive royal castle was once home to French kings before Versailles. Travelers can explore the majestic keep (donjon) — the tallest medieval tower in Europe — walk along the moat and fortified walls, and visit the beautifully restored Sainte-Chapelle de Vincennes, inspired by its Parisian counterpart. Inside, discover royal apartments, ancient dungeons, and exhibits revealing the castle’s transformation from a royal residence to a military stronghold. Enjoy panoramic views from the towers and stroll through the peaceful surrounding park. A visit to Château de Vincennes offers a fascinating journey through France’s royal, military, and architectural heritage — a perfect escape from the bustle of the city, just a few metro stops from the heart of Paris.
