Tokyo: Mt. Takao Tour with Ramen and Tattoo-Okay Hot Spring

About this experience

We get to explore a Temple, see Snow Monkeys, eat Ramen, connect with Nature, and enjoy Japan's Hot Spring Culture all in one day. Away from the big crowds and the rush of downtown Tokyo, we'll be able to move at a relaxed pace. There's also a Cable-car ride, Chair Lift, Suspension bridge, and many more things along the way. Your guide will be fluent in English & Japanese, and will feel more like a local friend. Instead of shouting orders and time restrictions, he'll share insights about Japan, giving tips and recommendations, and allowing you to enjoy your day. After exploring the mountain, we'll refresh, relax, and rejuvenate in a Natural Hot Spring facility. For those with tattoos, no need to worry, as we will go to a Hot Spring facility that allows tattoos! There are indoor and outdoor spring baths, a cold bath, and a Sauna too. Wear Comfortable shoes, and you can even bring a change of clothes to change off after the Hot Spring if your prefer!

What to expect

1. Stop 1 · 10min

   We'll check out this museum at the beginning to see what the mountain has to offer.

2. Stop 2 · 15min

   Ride a Cable Car or scenic Chair Lift halfway up the mountain!

3. Stop 3 · 1min

   The Octopus Cedar Tree is one of the sacred trees that we will see along the walk to the peak.

4. Stop 4 · 15min

   Along the way we will see the beautiful Monkeys that live in Mount Takao.

5. Stop 5 · 30min

   Savor a delicious Hachioji Ramen lunch, or try the Soba, both local favorites!

6. Stop 6 · 20min

   We will walk through the sacred Yakuo-in Temple as we make our way to the mountain top.

7. Stop 7 · 15min

   Enjoy a view of the sacred Mt. Fuji from the peak of Takao mountain.

8. Stop 8 · 5min

   Walk over a beautiful suspension bridge along the way down!

9. Stop 9 · 1h 30min

   Got Tattoos? Don't Worry!! We usually go to a hidden Hot Spring Facility in a nearby mountain that allows ALL tattoos!

Meeting & pickup

• The guide will be standing in front of the ticket gates of Takaosanguchi station holding a yellow tennis ball.

End point

• After the Hot Spring, your guide will take you to JR Hachioji Station, which is one 38-minute train ride from Shinjuku Station.
